This Blog is a summary from a Youtube video by Daniel Monti, MD, head of the Dept of Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, and chief researcher at the ONE Foundation, which researches and publishes its findings for NET. I found it inspiring enough to pass it on here.

Why is it sometimes easy to move forward with things you want to do, and yet other times it is so difficult to do the things you think you want to do? Often times this resistance is Incongruence

Congruence means agreement between the emotional part of the brain and the cortical thinking logical part of the brain. When there is not agreement, then incongruence occurs, where an automatic coping program is triggered by an environmental or emotional cue in the present, triggering a traumatic memory in the past.

Incongruence means too much resistance to a concept. Preference is more neutral - it is being OK with something even if it is not prefered. This is normal, but it shouldn't cause a short circuit in the nervous system. This "short circuit"can be measured with muscle testing, much like how a polygraph test works. It allows the practitioner to measure agreement vs disagreement in the brain.

NET uses concepts from cognitive psychology and pulse points from traditional Chinese Medicine to help the practitioner find his or her way to that part of the brain that is being activated. Pulse points correlate to the meridians, which in turn correlate to the meridian system. And the meridian system correlates beautifully to specific emotions.

I've included two different attachments to this Blog:

One attachment is a PDF of the recently published research article showing the effects of NET to pain reduction.  This recent study relates most directly to chronic or acute pelvic pain.

The other attachment is a link to a recent Youtube video by Dr Monti, where he so effectively describes the science behind NET and then gives an excellent demonstration of a treatment concerning congruence and incongruence.

Enjoy!
